Smash

The Panthers play Gatling the upcoming week. Smash is a native of Gatling and still has friends and family there.

Smash, shoots up before church, and that day the pastor preaches about how god will tell our lies. Lyla also prays during this time. Smash brings up his dad in front of Mama, but she disallows him to talk about his father who gave him the name "Smash" after he crashed into the hot water heater. Smash later becomes light headed after lifting weights. His sister Sheila, by his side, rushes him to the hospital. Sheila questions Smash about his acne (a sign of steroids). Smash tells her its just some "pick-me-ups" he taking. Smash goes back to Gatling before the game and visits his family. Smash's mom confides in a friend that she might be better off with Smash's dad dead. Smash overhears this. Mama explains to Smash about troubled dad before he died; however, inspite of his behavior Mama still loved him and like Smash his daddy was charmer, would be proud of Smash.

Matt and Julie

Julie and Matt plan their date. Coach Taylor and Tami are worried by remark, "At least she's not interested in a serial killer or one of the Riggins!"

Jesse takes Matt shopping for retro clothes, because that's what he thinks all the girls like. Coach Taylor calls Landry Lance. Coach Taylor asks Matt what's going on with Riggins and Matt tells him about Tim and Lyla. Coach Taylor brings up the date with Matt and his daughter and tells Matt, "Hey my daughter and I talk a lot."

Matt picks Julie up with a member's only jacket on! Julie is dressed kind of scandalless, asks Matt if he wants a beer, "no thanks I driving" Matt replies. Coach Taylor then says, "I was kidding." Matt tries to get a ticket to movies because he's OQ-One. But the movie girl tells him they haven't given tickets to players sense sense the Chavez incident. Landry watches grandma during this time; however she becomes uncontrollable and Matt must cut their date short so he can help grandma. Grandma locks herself in the bathroom and asks for Joe, he ex-husband. Matt pretends he's Joe and sings "Mr. sand man." Julie is dumbfounded. The date gets cut short and Landry takes Julie home. Matt is mad about date, Julie tells her parents that she saw the real Matt Saracen.

Tim

Everybody looks a Tim weird at practice because they think he beat Jason up while he was in a wheelchair. Tyra confronts Lyla about Jason being punching out Tim. Rumors start around school. Tim gets home late and the gang of Panthers come out and bats his truck up. The following day Trya bitch slaps Tim, while he vacuums out his shattered truck, Billy stands by and laughs'he says to Tim " I hope Lyla was worth it!"

Jason and Lyla

Lyla goes to see Jason at rehab. Jason takes down pictures of Lyla and other Panther memorabilia. She tries to apologize but Jason will have none of it. Jason asks if they had sex, she nods yes, and he follows with "how many times." Lyla gives no answer. Some Panthers come and visit Jason question him about Tim and Lya and Tim hitting him.

Jason continues murder ball training. Coach Taylor visits Jason and tells him he doesn't have to be alone with the Lyla situation. Tyra visits Jason at rehab center, while Dillon goes to Gatling, with some "party." Jason makes fun of Tim, and Trya makes fun of Lya. "Here's to real friends in Texas", Jason tells Tyra.

The Game

The "Black Hole" of the Gatling Eagles is lead by Jr. Salvario. As the two teams come out they fight. Gatling gets a safety. People yell at Lyla about Riggings, call her a slut and throw stuff at her. Buddy Garitty is all over the situation. Lyla goes under the stands and cries. She tells her dad she was unfaithful; in which he tells her we all make mistakes. Buddy had confided in Tami in concern of Lyla. Tim makes a key block and Smash runs for a touch down as time expires. Panthers win 6-2. Yes it was a football game! Matt kisses Julie... Tami witnesses.
