Looks like the show did get re-newed.
However you won't be able to view it in the fall unless you have direct tv. NBC will start airing the season in early 2009 once it concludes on Direct tv. I for one don't think I will be tuning in anymore though. FNL stopped being primetime television worthy long ago. It's obvious that the only reason it even exists anymore is because it is on NBC who struggles to find anything good. ABC, CBS, and Fox would have canned this show long ago. Interesting gamble NBC is making on FNL - considering most of the other nets (namely ABC) have jettisoned some pretty good shows this offseason.
I do not have Direct TV, so I suppose I will have to wait until 2009. I probably will watch again, although I agree the show descended into "Dillon 90210" territory last season. I'm interested to see how they play out the Street storyline, see whether they follow Smash to college, etc. Couldn't care less about the romantic pairings, though. |
