I don't think that there is a ratings problem. I know that there is not a content or quality program as this is one of the most superlative shows in a somewhat dismal season. Then why the rumors regarding a possible cancellation?
This show has something for everyone, the sports fan, the soap opera watcher, the teenager, the adult, etc. |

Season 1 was a season that had alot to offer (and even with extremely poor ratings was still renewed because of that).
Season 2 however was a different story. If you weren't a 16 year old girl who simply liked seeing lots and lots of Riggins there wasn't a whole heck of a lot to offer a viewer. And that plus the fact that the ratings were just as poor is why it finally got the can. |

| I just saw an Entertainment Weekly report about the shows returning after the strike. Friday Night Lights is on the list however, NBC has yet to decide if it or another network will air the show. The date is TBA as well. I think I just regurgitated the same news everyone else spewed. I guess reading the same news in an entertainment magazine just feels different. I can count on lastcast to disagree with me but I'm hopeful that the writers are capable of redeeming the show. | ||

If it does come back and they want to continue on on the same story path that they started in season 2 the CW would probably be the best bet.
They are really probably going to have to promise to make their plots a little less teeny bopperish if they have any hopes of staying on a major network next year. And ESPN is not an option with the direction the show has taken this year.....Period..... |
