I can't figure out when Tim and Lyla got together (after Tim's Christian radio show). I've read a description of that episode, but the things it talks about aren't in the episode!  Also, at the end of one season Jason is trying to talk Erin into having the baby and at the beginning of the next season, she has had the baby and they seem to be having some sort of relationship. 
And finally, how did Tami get to be principal after one year as guidance counselor?  Usually this show is right on target with gritty realism, but not with that.  Where is all this set up and explained?

Did you see the first episode of season 3? They try to explain all of that as they move along... So no, you're not missing any eps. You'll have to fill in the blanks yourself. I guess there were just too many story-lines to follow upon and too little money to do so!
