With season 3 just finishing on DirectTV and starting on NBC, what are the chances of FNL returning for a season 4? To me the way they ended season 3, suggested that there would not me a season 4, does anyone have any info on this?

The last episode hasn't aired yet. That's going to be this Wednesday. They end each season as if it's their last because they never know what NBC is going to do.
I'm just hoping that if it is the last season that they at least do a 2 hour movie in the Fall to wrap everything up. I would love if they did something where they Fast Forwarded 5 years so that we can see what happened to everyone. |

The season finale was on tonight and im really hopeing that they will have a fourth season. the way they ended it is setting it up very nicely for a fourth season.
im thinking that coach taylor will take the job at east dillion high and then the two schools (east dillion and dillion) are going to face each other, either before the state game, or at the state game, or even both. im also thinking that at the state game east dillion lions will win and maybe have season four be the last one... also hope that they kind of follow the people who are leaving dillion. Kind of give us hope that they will come back one day. Hope they also keep all the couples together. |

I haven't seen the final episode yet, but read the interview by the head writer.
If there's a Season 4: Matt should be a receiver's coach or something over at East Dillion. They set the stage for someone from High School coaching when Street was a coach in the 1st season. Riggins should realize that he can't handle the academics and go work with Billy. |

They way they set it up was great. It makes you think they will be back for a forth season. I'm sure Riggins will flunk out of San Antonio State or get in trouble and get kicked out, so I see him comming back to work with Billy. Tyra is just up the road at U.T. so I'm sure we will see her around. What I could not understand was what was up with Landry. Is he not a senior with the rest of the group? They never mentioned where he was going or if he was going anywhere at all.

If you have seen season three or not yet, continue to watch it on NBC. The more people who watch it on NBC will bost ratings for the show and make it look better when it comes time for NBC to decide if it wants to go ahead with a season four. Please boost the ratings for the show!

In the interview with Jason Katims, Katims says that Landry is still a junior. I was really impressed with how the writers managed to close out a lot of plot lines while introducing others without seeming to force it into the show because it was the finale. The transition to East Dillon High also allows a smoother introduction of new characters without it having to seem forced.
Also, DanK, as much as I love Riggins' presence in the show, I hope he doesn't fail out or mess up at San Antonio State. That talk Billy gave him was one of the best moments of this episode and I'd hate to see that all be for naught. |

In the interview with Peter Berg, he made is seem as if they get a 4th Season, Riggins will be back. Tt was funny because he said he told all the young actors not to bank on their character being around for more than 3 or 4 years and as an actor himself, he told them that as young actors they need to see what else is out there and get other experiences. But then he said he was being a hypocrite because if they get another year, he hinted that Riggins will be back at some time.
Riggins doesn't need to mess up, since the school is fictional, all they need to do is write that there is some NCAA violation and the football program is being shut down. No football program, no scholarship for Riggins. |

This show really spoke to me. It's in a big way about these kids getting out of this small town, and reaching higher towards their goals. The possibilities presented by college are amazing, and Tyra's story sends that message the most directly.
I want to see more FNL no question, and I think the best idea is a 2 hour wrap up movie (even though greedily i want endless more seasons). They really could have ended season 3 more solidly and finished it there. They seemed to leave it open. They didn't present many new characters to replace the departing seniors. Yet they left a lot of storyline open. They told you where people were going. Had they let Matt go off to Chicago that would be a good ending for his character (not the only good ending, but the quickest). Yet they made him decide to stay. They have Jason hanging out in NYC. They have Coach Taylor at this new (old/shitty) school. They have a lot of things that leave you unsettled. Also, I really do like the new star QB, and want to see more of him. So they leave you to wonder. A lot of people are gone. (Gone in the sense they are off to live their lives, they learnt from football, friends, school, and their mentors enough to get on the right path that we'd be happy to let them go) Tyra is gone, and off to college. Tim is off to college. His brother has a shop which we can believe will succeed or at least we can believe there is enough motivation where if it fails things won't be so bad. Lyla is off to school. Buddy is selling some cars again, etc. So once again it could go either way. If there is no season 4 or some sort of wrap up, I will survive. Yet I will forever wonder about these characters that seem so real to me. I can't tell you how much Jason Street story moves me. I know it became a little unrealistic near the end of his storlyine (a 19 year old flipping a house, becoming a sports agent, etc.), but it still goes to show you what a father will do. I love and hate Tyra's story. I hate it because why was I never so aware? I never realized how important college was. I am in it now, but I had a 4.4 GPA (despite my grammar in this post, I really did). I just decided to go to some random state school, and I could have done better. I think this series teaches such a good lesson for kids. Most kids go through high school not really thinking, not a thought or worry at all. It's just school. Something they've done for 8 or so years previous. It never clicks for many what high school is. Most kids just apply to college per request of their parents, and those millions without parents either figure it out or they don't. Most don't. This show is just so good. I'll stop babbling in misdirection though. I think you get my point. I will end of this note: FNL is AMAZING, GIVE ME MORE!!!! and a short song.... i know a girl who thinks of ghosts she'll make ya breakfast she'll make ya toast she don't use butter she don't use cheese she don't use jelly or any of these she uses vaseline vaseline vaseline and alternatively i know a show which is composed of characters the show'll teach you things it don't use rabbits it don't use fleas it don't use hippos or any of these it use's panthers panthers dillon panthers |

Hello from Greece,
I also think that the way the season ended was very interesting and actually created a very promising premise for a season 4 storyline. Even though many of our original cast members are no longer with us - but on the other hand, a bunch of those still is - the show could now introduce a new group of characters that will form the team of East Dillon Lions. The issues of coach Taylor building a team from the beginning and the rivarly between Lions and Panthers could be adressed, making an excellent season 4. |

Hello Guys,
First, sorry for my english. I'm Brazilian and fan of FNL. :-) Well, well, well... FNL it's the best series and I'm very excited for the season 4. Unfortunately the only way to watch the episodies is by the Internet. I don't know why the series don't have audience in US because for me and many brazilian friends, FNL is perfect. Let's twist to another season, right? Texas forever! Clear eyes, full hearts, Can't Lose!!! Regards from Brazil! |

Just finished watching season 3 last night and I have one question: where can I sign a petition for a fourth season? I'm afraid me watching FNL will not make the ratings go up. In the Netherlands they are airing season 1, and I'll just watch that and make those ratings go up, so the Dutch TV-station will sign up for another season. But that's all I can do.
I agree that there are a lot of story lines to follow through or get properly started. I'm looking forward to a match between the Lions and the Panthers (I'll be supporting the Lions, what kind of fan does that make me?), but I suppose the Lions being a new team they won't play in the same league? Maybe a training-match, but heavily loaded with emotions. I'm looking forward to see who will follow coach Taylor, what this will do to Buddy Garrity, how the college-people will do in college, what will happen to the rest of them. I want to see scenes between coach Taylor and his wife, being in rivaling schools, I want to know what will really happen to Math and his grandma..... If there won't be a fourth season I'll settle for that 2-hour wrap-up movie. And if that doesn't happen? I'll just have to start writing some fanfic.... ![]() __________________ Julie: What happened to you?

Go Go Season 4, please!!
Success of fans in Brazil. Internet as it is not televised Pity that the educational system does not recover the other sports. Even the traditional Brazilian football is not invested in schools. Our basketball business is almost done. Only the street from a basketball league that survives the soul of the sports players. I love playing football, unfortunately is not here. "Grande abraço a todos, estou na torcida pela quarta temporada" |

I was a skeptic but then I got hooked. It's a very good show and I am anticipating Season 4.
Though there's a few things I don't quite understand. If Coach Taylor's job was on the line, why is it that nobody spoke up for him? The whole room went quiet when "the coach" walked in, what happened to Buddy Garrity? Or what happened to all of the parents of the kids whose lives he helped influence. Why weren't there any other students up there defending him? I hope they do season 4, I will be eagerly anticipating it. |

Why weren't there any other students up there defending him? I think the room was full of boosters. They go with the money. McCoy has got that, a lot of it, and Buddy is a little bit in financial problems. The rest of the town, including players and friends don't know it yet. That will surely be one of the storylines for a fourth season: who will stand up for coach Taylor, which student will change school etc... __________________ Julie: What happened to you?

Living in Australia means that we are often starved of great TV. Thank god for the internet, otherwise I'd go insane with all the crap they show over here. As for FNL, I have followed it from Season 1 and it has to be one of the best TV shows aired over the last 5 years. Its up there with current and past gems such as Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Dexter, The Wire, The Sopranos, Battlestar and The X-Files. The show just keeps on getting better with the storyline for season 4 nothing short of true genius.

I'm officially in love with this season. Every episode you don't know what's gonna happen, and I like that. It'd be cool if the finale of the season or any coming episodes Street, Smash (besides Riggins) and some of the Panthers we grew to love, inspire the Lions to do some great and take the thunder away from the Panthers with their ties to Coach Taylor, because I honestly think that's what the Lions need.
